Greetings!
Your support is needed to Save the Butler Manor House, the only country style home designed by renown Architects Lamb and Rich in New York City.
Request that the Manor House be 'Calendared" for Landmarking, meaning scheduled for a public hearing to save it from demolition.
Until a month ago, it was used as the S.I. Montessori School at 500 Butler Blvd, Butler Manor/Tottenville. It is under consideration for landmarking but was recently purchased by a developer who may demolish it. There are alternate plans for educational, cultural and recreational uses for the mansion, if it can be preserved for future generations.
It is adjacent to Mount Loretto State park and Bulter Manor Woods, a N.Y.S Bluebelt. Preserving the Butler Manor House offers an opportunity to connect the public to park lands, the shoreline along the Raritan bay and Staten Island's history.
